About us
our mission
OnPoint works with our clients to ensure a successful event. We focus on what hangs overhead, and the foundation underfoot. It's critically important to get it right!
We will work with you to understand your requirements, develop a plan, provide the quality rental equipment needed, and deliver and install with professional service. We’re happy to accommodate all sorts of additional requests through our network of partners.

The onpoint story
OnPoint was born of an observation by James Bell as he worked as a local rigger. After moving to Raleigh in 2009 with 20 years of rigging and rigging grip experience, James quickly assumed leadership roles on the job.
He differentiated himself by bringing an extreme focus on efficiency and customer service to every job, and that level of attention led to clients requesting him year over year. During this time, James also noticed rigging equipment being transported to Raleigh from cities across the country, including Atlanta, Tennessee, and even California. He recognized the cost, time, and risk clients assumed by doing this. And then he wondered why there wasn’t a better solution.
In 2018, OnPoint was established as a rigging equipment rental company. James was joined by his wife, Caroline, who left the corporate world of HR consulting client leadership to manage the administration of the business.
OnPoint began with a commitment to high-quality rigging equipment and delivering great service as the building blocks of strong ongoing relationships.
We continue to expand our inventory and people practices to deliver the service our clients so rightly deserve.

we are event builders
We leverage an extensive inventory of equipment, an experienced local labor pool, and deep knowledge of local venues to build our client’s vision. Bringing an event off the design page and into the venue is what we do best.
How we do what we do is about safety, first and foremost.
When you’re hanging items overhead and providing structure underfoot, focus on safety is non-negotiable.
Marrying the need for safety with the client's vision is the difference between a goal met and a goal missed. Qualified and certified labor, quality equipment, extensive practical venue experience all bring safety and vision together. Add effective onsite leadership and project management and a can-do culture...that’s OnPoint.
